The Louise Archer Sunshine 5K and Fun Run

Both the 5K and Fun Run are walker and stroller friendly. With a fast, flat out and back course and support from the entire Vienna community it's a great event for the entire family.

This event has been planned to show our children that being healthy and having a sense of community spirit are key parts of our lives. Whether this is your first race or your 100th race it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you are making a difference and what better way to do that than with 500 of your closest friends.

So come out and race, support, volunteer on October 16th as the LA5K takes to the W&OD Trail.

Note: both the 5K and Fun Run are stroller and walker friendly!

About Louise Archer Elementary

As a magnet school with an Advanced Academics Program, Louise Archer serves students from eight different elementary schools, covering the whole of Vienna.

We are proud that our school provides an excellent education to students from diverse ethnic, socio-economic and educational backgrounds. Our PTA provides support for before and after school activities, including a foreign language program, sports clubs, chess clubs, robotics club and a strategy lab.

As you know, budget constraints have severely affected specialized programs that schools can offer and support. Funds raised by this event will be used to enhance classroom learning. The PTA is instrumental in covering budget gaps from Fairfax County Schools’ budget for new technology and resources for teachers, books for the library, and extended learning opportunities outside the traditional classroom.

The focus of the Sunshine 5K is to promote healthy family activity, as well as foster a sense of community.
